The IT security company Verisec, which is behind Freja eID, is now establishing the e-identification service on the Norwegian market. Thanks to its Nordic integration partners and that Freja eID is internationally scalable, one can now move its position forward on the Nordic market without major investments.

Freja eID is an established Swedish e-ID and is also internationally scalable since the solution is not built around Swedish personal identity numbers. This, together with integration partners operating in Norway, creates conditions for international companies that are already integrated with Freja eID on the Swedish market, to have one and the same solution for e-identification in both countries. Freja eID is a next generation mobile e-ID available in three levels of trust. The middle level Freja eID Extended, which now becomes available in Norway, has a completely digital onboarding process and strong identity verification with, among other things, address lookups against the national register.

With Freja eID Extended, users can identify themselves to log in, confirm purchases, make legally binding signatures and communicate securely in the digital world. Freja eID meets the European Commission’s Regulatory Technichal Standards (RTS) for strong customer authentication (SCA) and their two-factor authentication (2FA) criteria.

Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec comments:
“Since we already have integration partners active on the Norwegian market and since Freja eID is an internationally scalable e-ID, the establishment of our e-identification service in Norway does not mean a great technical or financial investment. Freja eID provides Norwegian service providers with opportunities for better customer and user experiences, higher security, increased customer interaction, regulatory compliance and, of course, reduced costs.”
