Digital Press Card for Journalists and Photographers
The Swedish Union of Journalists (Journalistförbundet) and the Swedish Association of Professional Photographers (Svenska Fotografers Förbund) have decided to digitise the press card and begin its use from autumn 2023.

Digital Press Card – Journalists
The Swedish Union of Journalists (Journalistförbundet) chose OrgID to make the process of getting the press card smoother for their members. Also important to them was the prospect of online identification with OrgID in addition to identification in the physical world.

Your digital press card will be issued to you without the required visit to the administrator.

Digital Press Card – Professional Photographers
Joining their colleagues is the Swedish Association of Professional Photographers (Svenska Fotografers Förbund).
For them, digitising their now defunct plastic press cards is seen as a natural step towards the future as the OrgID card is more secure, easy to manage and more environmentally friendly.
For Members of the Association
Your professional photographer ID and press card will be issued through Freja.

Lawyer ID for the Swedish Bar Association
The Swedish Bar Association also decided to phase out their plastic ID cards in favour of Freja’s digital solution. With OrgID, lawyers will be able to identify themselves when entering courts, detention centres and prisons.
Again, emphasis has been on security as the digital ID card simply offers more safety measures than a static card, as well as ease of provisioning since the whole process is digital.

How to check a digital OrgID-card
1. App to app.
The controller needs to have the Freja app on their phone and at least have registered a Freja account with a verified email address. The user opens their OrgID card in Freja and shows the controller the QR code. The controller scans the QR code with their Freja app and then both should receive the same three-digit control code.
2. Via control portal
The controller needs a browser and goes to https://checkorgid.frejaeid.com/ and enters the user’s personnummer. The user must have their OrgID card in Freja open in the app when the check takes place. The same three-digit control code must then be displayed in the control portal and the user’s app.
