Freja eID is now available for download via Huawei AppGallery, the world’s third largest platform for apps with 570 million users globally. In Sweden, Huawei is the third best-selling mobile phone brand and with the launch of AppGallery, Freja eID ensures that Sweden’s only state-certified mobile e-ID is available to all users.

Freja eID has been available from the App Store and Google Play from the start but as Huawei has risen to become Sweden’s third largest mobile brand, and the second largest globally, it has become increasingly important to also be available on Huawei AppGallery. Since April this year, new Huawei phones will only be able to download apps from AppGallery and the timing of Freja eID’s launch on the platform is good.

Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec comments:

“As a challenger in the e-ID market, we like diversity in all markets. I think that the fact that there is now a third, larger player among app stores, will contribute to more innovation and development opportunities for mobile services, which always benefits users in the end. Huawei has already demonstrated this, not least in the flexibility and level of service they showed in helping us get on board the platform. Freja eID is an e-ID for everyone and thus it was also a matter of course that we should be there for all Huawei users, says Johan Henrikson, CEO of Verisec.”

Jacky Zhao, Nordic CEO at Huawei Consumer Group comments:

“We are very pleased to welcome Freja eID to Huawei AppGallery. It is an important step for us in our ambition to offer secure solutions to our customers. It has been a very smooth process and a good example of how our local team works with companies to integrate into our platform. It should be simple, smooth and secure”.
