Verisec, the IT security company behind the e-identification service Freja eID, has signed a partner agreement with IT Omsorg regarding Freja eID+. As an IT supplier in the healthcare sector, IT Omsorg will offer health professionals and caregivers Freja eID+ for access to various e-services within healthcare.

IT Omsorg stands close to the development in the health care sector and are being active in preventive purposes by offering its customers an identity solution that works today and in future times. Freja eID+ is the only mobile e-ID that meets the requirements for the federation SAMBI in relation to e-ID at trust level 3 (LOA 3). On behalf of the Swedish eHealth Agency, the federation enables secure access to digital services for staff in the healthcare sector, for example when prescribing e-prescriptions or other services that retrieve information about patients. Currently Freja eID+ is the only future-proof mobile e-ID for access via SAMBI.

By November 2019, everyone who carries out health care and uses the services of the Swedish eHealth Agency must join SAMBI Secure access. During a transition period until June 2020, exemptions are given to use SITHS cards to access connected e-services.

Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec comments:
”In order for organization, governance and working methods in health care to get the best effect from digitization’s opportunities, one must consider the identity as a key factor. With Freja eID+, IT Omsorg can offer healthcare providers a government-reviewed and -approved e-ID at trust Level 3 that works now and in the future. For those user organizations that need to replace their SITHS cards before they’re expired, Freja eID+ is also the most cost-effective identity solution on the market.”
