The IT security company Verisec enters into a partner agreement with Crunchfish Proximity AB to offer the e-identification service Freja eID together with the proximity-based solutions of Crunchfish Proximity. Crunchfish Proximity is currently focusing on Blippit which gives the trade new opportunities to checkout in the store with the mobile. The agreement means that Crunchfish will integrate and become a reseller of the e-identification service Freja eID as an identification method.
Crunchfish Proximity develops Blippit’s app terminal, which offers the trade new opportunities to checkout in the store where both mobile payment and other discounts are being redeemed at the checkout with one and the same blip. Blippit’s solution is made possible by Crunchfish’s technology for proximity-based interaction and the innovative clearing system for coupons and means of payment established by the co-owner ClearOn in more than 20,000 checkout counters in approximately 6,000 stores across Sweden. In this process, Freja eID is integrated and offered as a digital identity method. The offer is initially aimed at the Swedish market with the intention of expanding internationally at a later stage, which is also supported by the fact that Freja eID is an internationally scalable e-ID.
Paul Cronholm, VD Crunchfish Proximity comments:
“We look forward to integrating and being able to offer Freja eID as part of our solution. Since Blippit has plans for international expansion, an e-ID is needed that can authorize transactions both in Sweden and abroad.”
Johan Henrikson, CEO Verisec comments:
“When customers use the mobile to be able to checkout by “blipping” on Blippit’s app terminal in the store, the transaction can be approved with Freja eID as a mobile e-ID. This is a brilliant example of how identities are a critical part of digital innovations.”
