How the Reading Is Done

Displayed on the screen is the user’s verified data consisting of their: photo, name and age, personnummer.

Also visible is a QR code with the user’s personnummer that can be scanned with a regular cash register scanner. If it can scan driving licences, it can scan this QR code.

The QR code expires after 2 minutes, after which the user must click on the expired QR code to generate a new one.

Security Features

There are 2 main methods of checking the Freja ID card’s validity.

First is to scan the presented QR code with another device that has Freja. This will create a code that will be the same on both devices if the ID card is valid.

The second method is to enter the user’s personnummer into our security portal. If the ID card is valid, the user will receive a code that you can check.
